Scott A. Smith is a dedicated professional with a strong background in large complex organizations, technology and deep interest in serving the community. Scott is running for the Samuel Miller seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisorst. With years of experience in the innovative world of high tech and serving customers, Scott honed his skills in innovation, problem-solving, leadership, helping organizations streamline operations and enhance efficiency to reduce costs. Scott is passionate about applying his expertise to local governance, aiming to provide cost effective services, improve public safety, and support economic growth while listening to residents’ concerns and representing them on the board. 

Scott and his wife served as election officers for the 2024 election.   After the devastating hurricane flooding last year, they drove supplies down to volunteer with Samaritan’s Purse in North Carolina. 

Scott’s interest in public service and his forward-thinking approach make him a compelling candidate for the Board of Supervisors.
