August ACRC Meeting

What better way to end the summer season and kick off the long stretch from Labor Day to Election Day than opening Campaign HQ?

Saturday morning (August 27th) Albemarle Republicans had a breakfast meeting attended by a loyal and friendly crowd of well-wishers. Even before the crowd finished eating, speeches began.

Robert Tracci, past Albemarle County Commonwealth Attorney, current Senior Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, Louisa County and recent Governor Youngkin appointee to the Virginia State Crime Commission, artfully charged up the faithful. Robert draws stark contrasts between party philosophies, especially in interpretations of the Law, which protects individual liberty through Constitutional limitations.

A series of reports from Committee heads ensued as they work diligently to keep our Party organized and proactive in the coming Congressional campaign.  Donna Gray of the Charlottesville Republicans gave an inspired message on our “Get out the Vote” efforts.   Sylvia Flood, ACRC Vice Chair will soon replace Nancy Muir on the Electoral Board.  Nancy Muir,  (Electoral Board member now resigned) will now serve on the Leadership Team.  Norman Moore is Election Integrity Chair (newly authorized standing Committee.)  Steve Harvey is White Hall District Chair (also White Hall Supervisor Candidate).  Clara Belle Wheeler is Leadership Team (credentialed as Senior Fellow VA Institute of Public Policy).  James Eustis, High School Republicans Chair, gave a very informative explanation of the effort to organize Republicans at our local High Schools.

Volunteers are needed for Inside and Outside Poll Watchers, Election Officers, Outside Precinct Workers.  Contact ACRC using this website or ACRC Chair John Lowry at chairman@albemarlegop.org

Our membership continues to expand, we concluded business for the meeting by voting in new members and approved creation of a new standing committee: “Voter Integrity.”  The “Voter Integrity” committee is authorized to take a stand AGAINST Ranked Choice balloting at this time (2023) and engage in all appropriate actions.

After door prizes the big meeting slimmed down to smaller ones. An enjoyable morning in our new campaign HQ left us energized for November 8, Election Day!
